WALTER HUTCHINSON - Founder, President
Walter Hutchinson has nearly 20 years accumulated experience with admissions to top-ranked schools, as well as to some of the world’s most competitive conferences, scholarships and fellowships. He also possesses a rare cross-border admissions background that includes periodic residence on 3 continents and actual visits to more than 35 countries.
During the early phase of his career, Mr. Hutchinson worked for the Manhattan offices of a major international law firm and also at the headquarters of a global investment bank (Merrill Lynch & Co). While on Wall Street, he advised colleagues as well as peers and counterparts at neighboring bulge-bracket investment houses, on MBA admissions strategy - capitalizing on prior experience working for Columbia University's Graduate School of Business.
---------
Mr. Hutchinson was selected by the Japanese Government for a national scholarship, with a mandate to conduct securitization research related to ongoing market liberalization in the finance sector. He unexpectedly found his MBA consulting services in demand in Asia, especially after contacts learned of his admissions experience with 3 divisions of an Ivy League university.
He is familiar with several languages and is acknowledged as a specialist in assisting non-Westerners and non-native English speaking professionals to transition to American and European MBA programs. He has also capitalized on related experience as a former delegate and selection committee member of international conferences to assist NGO and UN staffers in gaining admission to world-class graduate schools.
---------
Mr. Hutchinson holds both bachelors and masters degrees from Columbia University. In Japan, he was hosted by the University of Tokyo as a research scholar in finance and commercial law. As founder of ApplicationAdvantage, he has been profiled by Asian and European media sources. He has repeatedly helped applicants around the world gain admission to top schools including Harvard, London Business School, Stanford, INSEAD, and of course Columbia.
